		<description>I like the karma concept as a way of describing this.  This whole concept is the antithesis of the zero-sum game concept.  The more opportunities that are fostered the better for all of us.  So, help when you can - wherever you can and the benefits will come - often in a way completely unexpected.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The open source community is built on this as well.  Many companies and jobs have resulted directly from these highly altruistic (and selfish - helps to scratch your own itch -&gt; need) efforts.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I really liked the &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/network/2006/09/20/eurooscon-glow-flow-show.html&quot;&gt;presentation by Tor Norretranders&lt;/a&gt; at EuroOscon 2006 who proposed an evolutionary biology theory behind open source (and this karma concept).</description>
